“The best Mediterranean food in Denver”
It is dangerous that this place is so close to where I go to school, just a few steps away from the library. I could eat here several times a week. I love places that offer an abundance of options for vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, carnivores, and everything in between. Hummus is a must. The vegetarian plate always provides two meals for me, or a perfect meal to share. The place is open until 3am or so, and then opens up just a few hours later. Eat here. The best Mediterranean food in Denver.

"Best Middle Eastern food EVER!"
Upon arriving in Denver during the season's first snow storm, I was famished! My friend asked how hungry I was……..starving but for flavorful savory food! The Jerusalem Restaurant was the perfect choice! A small sit down area (and outside patio) was decorated in a fun yet tasteful casual decor. Family owned and operated, the staff was extremely welcoming and expedient! Then came our food! I had a combination platter with seasoned beef, lamb, and chicken. Humus and babaganash(not sure how to spell that and neither does spellcheck) were also served with fresh on-site made pita. I have never had a taste for the babaganash but absolutely LOVED it! The humus was incredible as well! The plates were garnished with fresh spices, lettuce, and tomatoes! I couldn't stop eating this fresh and perfectly seasoned food! Nothing was overpowering but each enhanced the other! Then the beautiful desserts! Took one of everything home as I was too full to enjoy! Each one was utterly amazing! I am a visitor to Denver and will return just to eat at this delightful Middle Eastern jewel!

“Amazing Food!”
Amazing food. I could never give this place less than 5 stars no matter what! Their lamb is delicious and the hummus is too. Do yourself a favor and just order one of each dessert in the case and have a try. They are fabulous!

“Five Star Baklava”
The five stars is hands down for the best baklava I've had in Denver. Eating this baklava is a religious experience for me. I eat the top layer of crispy phyllo dough. Then I move on to the nut layer which has the perfect notes of cinnamon. And finally I finish with the last layer of buttery, soaked in simple syrup phyllo dough. And then I repeat the process. It should be mentioned that I might have put the container of baklava on my lap and eaten the sticky gooey mess in. my. car.
Other honorary mention is the falafel. Light and crispy with just the right texture and spice combination. I also tried the dolmas off the vegetarian sampler and really enjoyed that. The baba ganoush has the perfect smoky flavor and the hummus zings with lots of garlic.
I come here whenever I'm close and always stock up on my beloved baklava.

“Most Amazing Hummus”
I have been eating here for a couple years now and it is absolutely delicious.
If you are looking to eat hummus until you can't breathe anymore, look no further. No, seriously. Most amazing hummus. It has a great zing from lots of lemon and garlic.
The Falafel is cooked perfectly! Everything I have tried here is stuff-your-face-till-you-can't-anymore good.
Few tips.
1. Call it J-slaams with your closest, coolest friends.
2. While it is good food for anytime, it is especially good hangover food.
2a. Addendum to this: if you're in the stage of hangover where loud noises will make you feel ill, sit on the east side of the restaurant. Inside sometimes there is the most loud annoying music you have ever heard (typically not annoying but a killer when the hangover is pounding).
3. The restaurant can be a little chilly in the winter so wear a coat.
4. Wear stretchy pants and order one of everything on the menu with extra hummus.
*About the hummus: maybe consider just ordering it in a cup with a straw to maximize
amount that can be eaten per second.
Ok, maybe that won't work.

"The restaurant is absolutely amazing… a Denver gem!”
This restaurant is absolutely amazing.
Best Mediterranean food I've had outside San Francisco [in the United States].
I highly recommend the sampler plate — and really appreciate how dog friendly the restaurant was.
A Denver gem!

“Quick, big portions, and soooooo tasty!”
Quick, big portions, and soooooo tasty!
This past weekend, after we had heard from a friend to try this place out, we decided to give it a shot. We will be going back! We sat out on their patio, which is small, but wasn't crowded and I got the Falafel and Hommoss Combo and my boyfriend ordered the Combination, Super Dish. The food came out so fast, and we were more than satisfied with the taste of the food, and the authenticity of everything on the plate. You can tell these people know what they are doing when it comes to Middle Eastern Cuisine.
Although I didn't have any dessert, I am still thinking about going back just for a sweet snack. Their dessert showcase looked amazing, and looked to be made in-house.
The only thing that could give people trouble is the parking. Small lot, with maybe 10-15 spots, but even if you park a few blocks away, the food is worth it, and a nice walk after your meal will feel good, because you will be full!

“the desserts are criminally good… this is my new late night go-to”
omg have I really been driving by this place all these years? this is an amazing eatery. it captures the café culture I so miss from Europe. and for those of us who feel it's uncivilized to eat dinner while the sun is still up, this place is godsend in a city that rolls up its sidewalks at 8.
the food is excellent: tasty, well presented, filling, inexpensive.
the service is exemplary and friendly.
the desserts are criminally good, flaky filo treats that don't break the bank.
I didn't like hummus or grape leafs before coming to The Jerusalem, but after tasting their combo, I decided I just hadn't had good hummus before. and Baba ghanoush? ok, I'm hooked.
this is my new late night go-to. this holiday season when you've shopped till the stores close, never fear, there's still a place to go with good food and people-watching where you don't have to rush to beat closing time.
